Sizing & fit

If the brace is unworn or like-new, the simplest option is to start a return through your Amazon account and reorder the correct size. Before you reorder, measure your ankle circumference and compare it to the size chart so you can choose confidently.

If you're between sizes or unsure, reach out to support with your ankle measurement, your shoe size, and the size you purchased, and we'll point you to the best option.

Snug but not painful. The brace should feel firm around the ankle with clear support when you move, but you shouldn't feel numbness, tingling, or throbbing. If you do, loosen the straps one notch at a time until the pressure eases.

Yes — the brace is designed to fit inside most athletic shoes. Because it provides real structural support, it does take up a bit more room than a sleeve or wrap. If your shoes fit snugly, we recommend sizing up half a size or choosing a wide-width pair for the best fit.

Comfort & pressure points

The tongue should sit flat against the top of your foot before you tighten the straps. If it's bunched or folded, loosen all straps, reposition the tongue smoothly, then re-tighten from the bottom strap up. Thin athletic socks also help the tongue sit more naturally.

If the straps are digging in, you may be over-tightening. The brace gets its support from its internal structure, not from strap pressure. Loosen the straps until they're firm but not compressing, and check that the brace is positioned with the heel fully seated before tightening.

Yes — that side pressure is exactly what's restricting the inversion and eversion motion that causes most ankle injuries. It should feel firm and supportive, not sharp or painful. If you're getting pain rather than pressure, loosen the straps one notch and check the fit.

Use cases

Yes — the brace is built for court and field sports where lateral movement and jumping put the ankle at risk. Many customers use it for basketball, volleyball, pickleball, and soccer. For running, it's great for trail or uneven terrain; on flat roads a lighter sleeve may be more comfortable for long distances.

Yes, especially if you're on your feet a lot or recovering from a sprain. For all-day wear, make sure the fit is snug but not tight enough to restrict circulation. If your work involves sitting, briefly loosening the straps every few hours can improve comfort.

We don't recommend sleeping in the brace. Prolonged compression during sleep can restrict circulation, and the ankle benefits from natural movement and recovery time overnight. If you're worried about rolling your ankle during sleep, talk to your physical therapist about alternatives.

Care

Hand wash only. Use cool water and a mild detergent, gently scrub, then rinse and air dry. Do not machine wash — the machine agitation degrades the Velcro closures quickly, which is the #1 cause of braces losing their hold over time.

With regular use and proper hand-wash care, the brace typically lasts 6–12 months before the Velcro and straps start to show wear. Heavy daily athletic use will be on the shorter end of that range. When the straps no longer grip firmly, it's time to replace.
